8 Ways To Care For Your Massage Linens, Sheets, And Pillowcases

For a massage therapist, their massage table linens, sheets, and pillowcases get used almost every day and washed after every use. They wear down a lot faster than the linens, sheets, and pillowcases we use at home. For the sake of keeping everything clean for the next client, there isn’t a way around having to wash your materials. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to minimize the wear and tear, and to make your massage linens last longer.

1. Wash In Warm, Rinse In Cold

Wash in warm water. Rinse in cold water. This will help your linens, sheets, and pillowcases last longer. You may want to avoid using a hot dryer as well. If the oil’s still in the fibers, a hot dryer will set them further into the fabric.

2. Presoak Heavily Soiled Linens

If there are significant oil stains on a sheet, soak it before washing in an eco-friendly degreaser, stain remover, borax, or with baking soda.

3. Wash Sheets Within 24 Hours Of Use

The longer you wait to wash a set of used linens or sheets, the more likely that massage oils or lotions will set into the fibers. They will be much harder to get out when left to set. Always wash used linens within 24 hours of them being used.

4. Use 3-4 Tennis Balls In The Dryer

Add 3-4 tennis balls when you put your sheets into the dryer. This will reduce drying time and reduce wrinkling. It goes without saying but make sure the tennis balls are clean.

5. Buy More Linens, Sheets, And Pillowcases

To get more from your inventory of linens, sheets, and pillowcases, a simple way to do that would be to expand the inventory. Increase your quantity of linens, sheets, and pillowcases, ensuring there is always a clean set available. Jersey Massage Table Sheet Set 3 pcs can be an excellent choice for you. Made with 50% cotton and 50% polyster composition, this economic, high-quality, and durable set can satisfy all your needs for massage sheets.

6. Use Lower Thread Count Sheets

High thread counts are soft but aren’t strong enough for the wear-and-tear of regular washes at a massage clinic. Opt for lower thread count massage sheets, which are easy to wash and that accumulate less oil.

7. Do Not Use Bleach Or Chemical Disinfectant

Bleach does not work on massage linens and sheets. Warm water and detergent are the only things you need to kill germs and bacteria. Bleach is ineffective in removing oil stains and will shorten the lifespan of your fabrics.

8. Use Water-Dispersible Massage Oils And Lotions

Massage oil stains are a worry. To ensure you minimize the risk of that as much as you can, use water-dispersible massage oils and lotions. These are much easier to clean, though isn’t a guarantee that you won’t get a stain.
